Above Ground Burial

Above ground burial usually takes the following forms:

  • a tomb - burial at the surface or just below the surface of the ground in a completely encased concrete lined tomb.
  • a crypt - an external 'cell' in a purpose-built buiding of many crypts
  • a vault - consisting of a number of crypts owned by one family, accessed inside the vault building
  • a mausoleum - consisting of a number of crypts or vaults inside a larger building.
