Funerals » Burial vs Cremation
The choice between cremation and burial is personal. For many, this decision is already determined by family tradition or religion. For others, it is a 'gut' decision. Sometimes the choice is not clear but in the end it's up to you. It's your choice.
In terms of statistics, more than half of the population is cremated.
As cemeteries close to the centre of cities fill, people will need to travel further to cemeteries. Burial space close to the centre of large cities is becoming increasingly exensive.
It is debatable, but it seems there is not a lot of difference in terms of impact on the environment between cremation and burial. The one-off effect of cremation on the environment compares favouably with cemetery maintenance (mowing etc) in perpetuity.
