Find a celebrant

Not all celebrants act as funeral celebrants. it is important to find a person to act as a celebrant who will provide the kind or service you want, whatever that might be. Funeral directors can put you in touch will local funeral celebrants but personal recommendation is usually best. Since most of us don't have much experience of funeral celebrants, don't be afraid to ask your proposed celebrant for someone you can ring as a referee for them.

• Funeral Celebrants Association has members Australia wide. At the moment, most members are in the Sydney metropolitan, Newcastle & Wollongong regions. Their website includes a directory of celebrants as well as information about arranging a funeral.
• Civil Celebrants Graduate Association  (Monash University) provides information on celebrants who have undertaken the Monash University post graduate diploma course.
