Eastern Suburbs Cemetery and Crematorium is well known, having been operating since the late 1800s and covers an extensive area. The crematorium has two chapels with modern communication systems. Newly opened sections of the cemetery are available as well as grave plots that infil the existing older areas. Landscaping of the Crematorium Gardens and the newer cemetery area is excellent. The older cemetery areas are bereft of trees but this situation will soon be reversed as the cemetery aesthetics will continue to benefit from the avenue plantings which have been made. Views of the water are available from many parts of the cemetery. Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park is Crown land managed by a community-based voluntary Reserve Trust Board. An upgrade plan for the whole cemetery is in progress, including a cafe, florest shop and and new condolense rooms.
