There are 4 chapels in the Catholic Cemetery at Rookwood:

• The Sacred Heart Capel
• The St Michael the Archangel Chapel
• The Mary, Mother of Mercy Chapel adjacent to the Crematorium
• The Mausoleum Chapel

Burial is available in

• lawn areas
• monumental or headstone lawn areas - headstones in each section are standard and there are currently some five sections to choose from
• monumental sections where the whole grave is covered with a monument
• garden crypts including the new Garden Crypts of St Clare or family vaults (above ground)
• crypts or family vaults in the Mausoleum of the Resurrection (above ground)

Cremated remains may be placed in

• niche walls
• memorial gardens
• niches in the Mausoleum of the Resurrection.

After Funeral Catering

The Condolence Lounge in the Crematorium area is a multi-purpose area, specially designed to enable both small and large groups to gather.  Refreshments ranging from tea and biscuits to fully catered functions with catering staff can be organised by Celeste Catering. Groups catered for

1. Special lawn cemetery areas have been set aside for groups including Chaldean, Korean and Vietnamese.
2. Special areas have also been established in the monumental lawn areas including Croatian, Maronite, Melkite, Slovak, Slovene, Syrian, Ukraine, Lithuanian, Hungarian and Polish.

Gravesites accommodate two burials and sometimes three.

The following prices (1 March 2009) are given as a guide only and cannot be relied on. Contact the cemetery for up-to-date and comprehensive information. Prices are reviewed twice annually. All prices include GST. Gravesites accommodate two burials and sometimes three.

A. In-ground burial

• Lawn grave $3,970 plus $1,950 opening and closing of grave
• Headstone lawn grave $4,860 including first 60 letters of inscription plus $1,950 opening and closing of grave.

B. Above ground burial

• POA

C. Cremation and Ash memorials

• Cremation only
• Space for 4 garden ash burials $680 plus $570 for each interment.
