The Independent cemetery at Rookwood covers a large area and caters for most people wanting to be buried at Rookwood. In particular, the Independent cemetery caters for Lutheran burial as well as Greek orthodox and other Christian orthodox groups including Russian,Antioch / Lebanese, Coptic & Syrian and Ukrainian. All styles of burial are undertaken.

The modern and stylish 'Mausoleum of Eternal Rest' caters for all religious denominations and incorporates a light-filled chapel. It continues the role of the original Frazer Mausoleum which commenced burial in 1894 and is the largest monument in Rookwood.
