Woronora Cemetery is an extensive area catering for the burial needs of southern Sydney, dating from 1895. The beautiful gardens and grounds are very well mainatained by the staff and it is pleasant to take a stroll through this historic cemetery. The Reserved Crown land is managed by a community-based Trust Board. Because the cemetery has limited space avaialable, prepurchase of graves is not allowed. However two graves may be purchased at the time of the first burial allowing for 4 interments in total (family graves).

Facilities include:

  • Lawn graves and headstone lawn graves as well as infil graves in the established monumental grave sections. Each grave allows for two interments.
  • Ash interment in niche walls or a variety of beautiful memorial gardens
  • Crypts in the Christ the Redeemer building.
  • Heritage listed chapels for both cremations and burials, with modern electronic communication as well as keyboard organ
  • The 'Forget Me Not Cottage' for after funeral functions in homelike private rooms - telephone 02 9542 2030.

Grave right of burials cannot be prepurchased - they are available as required.

The following prices (1 July 2008) are given as a guide only and cannot be relied on. Contact the cemetery for up-to-date and comprehensive information. Prices are reviewed annually. All prices include GST. All rights of burial are for 2 people.

A. In-ground burial

* Lawn burial: $3,410 plus $1,640 interment which includes one bronze plaque
* Headstone lawn $6,360 plus $1,290 interment plus monument
* Monumental grave in established areas $3,120 plus $1,290 interment plus monument


B. Above-ground burial

* Crypts POA

C. Cremation and Ashes

* Cremation and service: $890
* Single niche in wall: $460 to $2,225 plus $450 for plaque
* Memorial gardens $800 to $2,225 plus $450 for plaque
* Family granite memorials: $4,590 and $7,995 plus $450 for plaque
